How to Pay Your Salama Hosting Invoice with Mobile Money

Mobile money is one of the most convenient ways to pay for services in Uganda. You can use it to pay for web hosting, domain registrations and renewals without needing a bank card. This guide explains the general process and how to make sure your payment is recorded correctly.

Before you pay

  • Make sure your mobile money account has enough balance to cover the invoice and any transaction charges from your network.
  • Have your phone nearby, as you will need to approve the payment.
  • Keep your mobile money PIN private. Salama Hosting will never ask you for your PIN.

Paying an invoice through the Client Area

  1. Log in to the Salama Hosting Client Area.
  2. Go to Billing → Invoices and open the unpaid invoice.
  3. Select the mobile money payment option, where available.
  4. Enter the mobile number you are paying from, if requested.
  5. Approve the payment prompt on your phone by entering your PIN on your own device.
  6. Wait for the confirmation message on your phone and check that the invoice status updates.

Available payment options can change, so always follow the instructions shown on your invoice. For a full list, see payment methods.

After you pay

  • Keep the transaction ID from your mobile money confirmation SMS.
  • Check the invoice status in your Client Area. It should change to paid once processed.
  • Look for the confirmation email or receipt.

If your payment does not reflect

Occasionally a network delay means a payment takes longer to confirm. If the money has left your account but the invoice still shows unpaid after a reasonable time:

  1. Do not pay the same invoice again immediately, to avoid a double payment.
  2. Collect your transaction ID, amount, date, time and the phone number used.
  3. Contact support@salamahosting.com or open a ticket in the Client Area with these details and your invoice number.

Stay safe from mobile money scams

  • Never share your PIN or one-time codes with anyone, including people claiming to be support staff.
  • Only approve payment prompts you have started yourself.
  • Be wary of messages claiming money was sent to you by mistake and asking you to send it back.
  • Pay invoices from the official Client Area rather than links in unexpected messages.
