How to Update Your Billing Details and Contacts
Out-of-date billing contacts are a leading cause of missed renewals. Learn how to keep your company details, email addresses and contacts current in the Client Area.

Many service interruptions have a simple cause: renewal reminders were sent to an old email address or someone who has left the organisation. Keeping your billing details and contacts current is one of the easiest ways to protect your website, domains and email.
What to keep up to date
- Account holder name or company name
- Physical and postal address
- Primary email address
- Phone number
- Additional contacts who should receive billing or technical emails
- Tax or registration details if needed on invoices
How to update your account details
- Log in to the Salama Hosting Client Area.
- Open your account or profile settings.
- Update your name, company, address, email address and phone number.
- Save your changes.
Add extra contacts
Instead of relying on one person, add additional contacts, such as your finance team and your IT person or web developer. Where the Client Area allows, choose which types of emails each contact receives, for example invoices, service notices or technical updates.
This way, if one person is on leave or changes jobs, renewal notices still reach someone who can act.
Update domain contact details
Domains have their own registrant, administrative, technical and billing contacts. These may be separate from your Client Area account details. Keep them accurate, because:
- Registries may send important notices to these contacts
- Accurate registrant details help prove ownership of the domain
- Transfers may require approval from the registrant email address
You can usually manage domain contacts under Domains in the Client Area. See our guide to domain management.
Keep ownership with your organisation
Register accounts and domains in the organisation’s name, using a shared role-based email address such as accounts@ or it@. Avoid using a personal address that belongs to one employee or an external developer. If a staff member leaves, update the account immediately.
Protect your account
- Use a strong, unique password for the Client Area.
- Enable two-factor authentication if available.
- Remove access for people who no longer work with you.
- Review account details at least once a year.
